New Directory

A new notebook in the Clubhouse lobby provides another means of communication between Heritage Pines neighbors.

One section will be a posting of items or services for sale. Another will be a listing of service providers who have done a good job for homeowners or, sadly, not done a good job. This should be a help to others who are looking for servicemen for similar jobs. Forms for posting items are available in the clubhouse office. Please return completed forms to Betty or Aileen for filing. Let the office know when an item has been sold so the page can be removed.

Congratulations to Mike Etkin who caught a 34 lb., 42 inch Rock Fish or Stripped Bass while fishing off Port Kinsale, Virginia, on May 7th. Mike has been fishing with Scotty Moss, the Skipper that day, for over 20 years.

Clubhouse Helpers

Thank you to the Hospitality Committee Members and the Block Captains who placed American Flags by each mailbox in the community on Memorial Day and again on Flag Day. The flags were a beautiful and
inspiring sight. We hope to make flying the flags a tradition at Heritage Pines. “Thank you” to all who helped. While on the subject of helpers who deserve our thanks, we want to say “Thank you” to the Block Captains who distribute the Newsletters and to the Hospitality committee who help make this a better place to live. We appreciate all you do.

Pot Luck

Sometimes we wonder how much food to prepare for pot luck meals. If each person prepares enough food for four servings, everyone’s 4-serving dishes will add up to a bountiful meal.

Clubhouse & Neighborhood:

Outreach Librarian:

A New Library Service has come to the clubhouse. Matilda McBurney, Outreach Librarian with the Wake County Public Library, will be coming here the third Tuesday of each month at 1:30 pm. You will be able to check out books she has brought or you can order specific titles. There is no charge for this service. You can find a flyer in the clubhouse for more information. Her next scheduled visit is July 15.

Bus Book:

The new sign up pages will be available on Wednesday, June 25 at 10:30 am. The book will be divided by the week, and each week will be placed in a different area of the clubhouse. This is working quite well and we are not experiencing any traffic jams.

If the bus is full remember to put your name on the waiting list. If you do not get on this bus trip, we will plan another one at a later date. All bus trips are subject to cancellation due to lack of interest. Some bus trips will be cancelled due to inclement weather.

Trash Pick-up Day Changes:

The Town of Cary is changing the waste pick-up and recycling day for our area. Beginning with the week of July 14, 2003, trash and recycling will be collected on Tuesday. Yard waste pick-up will continue to be on Monday.

July Sign-up Forms

Please note there are two sign-up sheets this month. One is for activities requiring a separate check made to someone other than HPCA, Inc. Don’t overlook these activities. They promise to be interesting.

Many thanks to Norma Curran who has shared her talents to teach line dancing at the clubhouse. It is a great success.
Alice Cassimatis keeps an eye on Norma’s moves. She is joined by Clare Cady, Flo Sudduth, Helen Moll and Liz Mongrain in class.
Bob Cady, Don Ward and Don Duck try to make up their minds which ice cream treat they are going to order from Millie Hellmann. They men had a great time eating sundaes, sodas and shakes and many had all three.
Congratulations to
Mike Etkin for catching a 42 inch 34 pound stripped bass (rock fish)
