People with Arthritis Can Exercise, is coming to the clubhouse in September. This is a free program that will be offered in the Fall and Winter. The class is limited to 20 people, so it is on a first come first served basis. This program is being sponsored by the University of North Carolina. Shelly Carraway will be our  instructor. Please read the enclosed brochure for details. You can call Shelly if you have specific questions.

Flu and Pneumonia Shots will be given at the clubhouse on Wednesday, October 22, from 9:00 am until 12 noon. Costs: Pneumonia Shot—$25 and the Flu shot—$20.00.

Both free with Medicare part B. Sign-up sheets and forms will be available by October 1. This service is provided by Maxim HealthCare.

Meet the Candidates on September 18 at 7:00 pm.

We are inviting the candidates for Cary’s Mayor and City Council to get their message out to the  Heritage Pines Community. We are not sure at this printing as to who will attend, you can check with the clubhouse for an up-to-date list. It is a start in keeping the community informed, thanks to Evelyn Richards for suggesting this program. The town election will be held on October 7.


Matilda McBurney, Outreach  Librarian with Wake County Public  Library has changed her time to  accommodate the Ladies Lunch Bunch. The new time will be 2:15 pm on the third Tuesday of each month.

Her phone number is 211-9533 if you have a request for a specific book.

This is a very special program offered by Wake County, please use the service so we do not loose it.

Time Change:

Ceramics—time change—to Monday afternoons from 1:00 -4:00 pm. Ann Long will be here to offer new projects and assist you in your work.

Water Color is returning on Friday, September 26. Rocky Alexander is still teaching beginning techniques, so sign up if you are interested in joining this group.

A Conversational French group has formed in the community. If you are interested in more information please contact Mary Giannuzzi.

Congratulations to:

  • Bill & Joan Wark on the birth of their Grandson, Kevin Raymond Wark on June 23. Trish and Kevin Wark, the parents live in Monroe, New York.

  • Travis Thompson who sunk the 8 ball on the break at the clubhouse on July 3.

  • Dave Manning who was selected to read poems from his book Out After Dark at the Quail Ridge Bookstore in Raleigh on August 22. Dave is an award-winning poet.

Bus Book

The new sign up pages will available on Thursday, September 28, at 10:30 am. The book will be divided by the week, and each week will be placed in a different area of the clubhouse. Remember to put your name on the waiting list if the bus is full. If you do not get on this bus trip, we will plan another one at a later date.
