Holiday Party
Saturday, 12/13/03, festivities begin at 6 pm, dinner is catered by Daniel’s with music by Paul Minnis and Company. Sign-up deadline is Noon on 12/1/03.

New Year’s Eve Party
We will continue our tradition of welcoming the new year with friends at the clubhouse. Charlie Chiklis and the moonlighters will play from 8:30 to 12:30 am. Noon on 12/22 is the deadline for registration.

New Year’s Day Brunch
New Year’s Day we will have a brunch from 10 am to 1 pm. The deadline for signing-up will be noon on 12/19.

Special thanks are due to the Block Captains who put out the American Flags for Veterans Day. The Block Captains distribute the newsletters all year. Thank you all!

We also want to extend our thanks to the 2003 planning committee that has done such an outstanding job. We owe this committee our appreciation for the many fun
activities we have had this year. They have dreamed-up some really fun parties and done the background work to pull-off the
activities. Thank you all!


Golf Scramble
The first Annual Heritage Pines Golf Scramble was held at Crooked Creek Golf Course on November 10th. A large group of homeowners participated.

The winning team of David Yu, Paul Bowker, and John Alexander came in three under par.

Halloween Party is Great Fun

The Halloween Party on October 31 was lots of fun. Many strange characters who, based on their
appearance, could only be assumed to be Heritage Pines residents were seen about the clubhouse that night. Prizes were awarded in the following categories:

  • Best Overall: Art & Peggy Sheaffer

  • Most Elaborate: Gloria Slugg Scariest: Art & Peggy Sheaffer

  • Most Original: Liz & Gerry Mongrain Funniest: Art Sheaffer

  • Best Male Costume: Dave Slugg Most Realistic: Drew Smith

  • Best Female Costume: Nancy White

  • The Candy Corn Count was won by Bob Kiehne.

American flags fly at every mailbox on
Veterans Day.


Tim Wilkins shares a story from WWII with Travis Thompson and others attending the Krispy Kreme doughnut.


The Yacht Club sailed their red white and blue boats on the lake after enjoying doughnuts in the clubhouse on Veterans Day.

The Cardinal Singers sponsored by the Raleigh Parks and Recreation
Department entertained us with a delightful concert on 11/6.

Al Roos was the song master for the German Fest Pot Luck. Many thanks to Paul Bowker, Fran Drisko, Joe & Angie Lacenere, Gerry & Gerry Mongrain,
Marge & Al Roos and Art & Peggy Sheaffer for a very successful and fun filled evening. Dallas Foster and The Polka Plus Band were the entertainment.
