I hope you will have a Happy Valentine’s Day! Did you know that this community really has heart? Thanks to the Heritage Pines Hospitality Committee for always being there for us. During the past few months, several of our neighbors here at Heritage Pines have passed away leaving our community with a great loss. We have also had many ill residents who thankfully are recovering. The Hospitality committee consists of twelve dedicated volunteers who provide get well, thinking of you and sympathy cards to our homeowners. Betty Ecklund is the chairman of the Bereavement Committee. The HPCA also makes a $25.00 memorial donation to a charity chosen by the deceased homeowners family. They also offer a coffee and cake reception at the clubhouse for the family and friends of the deceased. This is a lovely way for our community members to meet the families and to pay our respects. I know that many of you were not aware of this committee and might have wondered how you received that get well card when you were in need. A supply of cards, which have been donated by residents are used. Please note that the name of the hospitality chairman for the month is listed on the back sheet of the newsletter. Many of these ladies have been on this committee for several years. All donations of cards that you may wish to give will be greatly appreciated. We really appreciate all you do ladies! This is just another way in which this community shows it really cares. How lucky we are to live here, in Heritage Pines, where people are always willing to go that ―extra mile‖ to help one another. If you know someone who is ill please contact Betty Ecklund with the information. Looking forward to seeing you out and about, Pat Schneider
