A Note from the President What would Heritage Pines be without all of the volunteers who give so generously of their time and talents? This year, 175 of these residents will be honored during one of two Volunteer Recognition celebrations. Those of you who are being honored received invitations sent out by the Social Committee. This community is such a melting pot with residents who have come here from all over the country. With this great mix of people, who have had such diverse lifetime experiences, no wonder we get so many different activities and events. Don’t forget to thank these volunteers the next time you attend one of these functions, and let them know how much they are appreciated.
Speaking of volunteers, I was in the clubhouse
today when a gentleman stopped me in the hallway to ask what all of the
ladies were doing in the clubhouse. I told him to follow me into the craft
room, and, to his surprise, he found a room full of ladies busily This group was the Rex volunteers, who are a dedicated group of ladies who work on projects that are distributed to patients at Rex Hospital. Across the hallway was another group of ladies who were busy knitting and crocheting. Some of these ladies make sweaters to be donated to Warm Up America as well as baby hats and caps for Rex Hospital. So, why not stop by and see some of this beautiful work? This group meets twice a month so check your calendars. Thanks to all of you who support the volunteer Board and its efforts.
Looking forward to seeing you out and about.
